2021 LCaT Academic Literacy workshops for matrics: Register now!

Soon your son or daughter may have to complete an academic literacy test as part of an application for admission to university. In view of the scarcity of places on offer, universities often use such tests as an additional criterion for access. In South Africa the tests include the Academic and Quantitative Literacy component of the National Benchmark Tests (NBTs).

If they prepare for these tests (yes, it is possible!) they will give themselves an advantage of scoring up to 15% more. For this reason our old customers keep on returning: our workshop has been an annual event at Waterkloof, Crawford and other top schools over the last five years. Read more on the LCaT Academic Literacy Workshop.

FEES: R550 for a three-hour workshop, which includes a workbook of practice tests and answers. Payment secures your registration which can be done online. Banking details are provided under each workshop/location.

KINDLY NOTE: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, many universities waived the NBT’s as part of admission criteria for 2021. However, some faculties at universities are now reinstating the NBT’s for the 2022 intake. The decisions of a specific faculty can change at any given time. Since selection criteria can change at the drop of a hat, it may be wise to do your own research.

Never wasted …

Our affordable workshop will minimise your child’s risk. What’s more, they will be able to handle academic language more effectively, whether they have to write the NBT test or not. No preparation for university is ever wasted.
